So recently I became obsessed with the artist Laura Zombie. She's just so good at picturing serious and deep matters in a fun and light way. Also, her colorwork is absolutely amazing. So here's my little piece, done with leftover tattoo ink I found at the tattoo shop I'm currently working at and watercolour.

Henna Tattoo
I always wanted to have a real tattoo, but sadly they are quite expensive and you can't really erase it. So last year when I went to Sri lanka I discovered henna tattoos. It's a paste with which you can draw a tattoo on your arm, which will go away in a few weeks. If you go to Dubay or any Asiatic city, you can usually buy little cones for less than two pounds. So here are a few examples of what I did. Drawing on your arm is actually harder than it seems, but it's so much fun !! Also if you want your henna tattoo to last longer just mix honey and lemon together. It smells amazing and your tattoo will last forever. Good luck :)
That's the honey and lemon paste. Also I forgot to mention it, but if you want to purchase henna go on amzone. And be careful with black henna since it can contain ink which is bad for your skin. And I would not recommend drawing your tattoo if you're not particularly good at drawing, since it might look like a 6 years old drawing finally...

Some new comic book pages :)
Hey, so here are a few of my latest comic book pages. I mainly did them because I was really bored, so they aren't that great, but I still really wanted to share them on my blog. I also tried a lot of different colouring techniques, but honestly I suck at colouring and none of them were a success....
* Here's the first page when it's still at the pencil stage : *
I tried out some colouring techniques. Here I used aquarel without inking the panel. I actually quite like the result, however this took me so long that I will probably continue to colour my pages on my computer...
And here's a page I did really quickly (20 minutes or something like that). I mainly wanted to try out a few new techniques. I also coloured it, but it was a total disaster, since, like I said I'm not a really good colourist and painting an evening sky was more difficult than I expected.Oh and this page is supposed to be inspired by the manga NANA in case any of you read it

I didn't finish these two pages, but here I inked the two first cases.

A sneak peek in my travelling journal :D
**My travelling journal**
The past few years I have been lucky enough to travel in so many different countries. From Sri Lanka to Dubai, every single country I visited was amazing and they were all so different. Since sometime it's hard to recall every single thing you discovered and enjoyed there, I created a little travelling journal that I always keep in my bag wherever I go. Of course, I could have taken some photographs to capture those unforgettable moments, but I just feel like drawings have the power to not only show you the moment, but to also make you feel those emotions (well maybe I'm sounding a bit to philosophic now :) ). I hope you enjoy those few pages of my journal, and that it will give you some new ideas on where to travel next time you do !
*** Quote of the day***
If you want light in your life, you need to stand where it is shining
Here's the cover of my journal.I did it with Posca felt tips
(I will show more artworks I did with them). The title is in French, cause it seems like at the moment I did this cover I still hadn't decide yet in which language I would do it :).
By the way I finally decided to do it in English, since it's probably the language that most people can understand .
GOING TO SRI LANKA :
Visiting Sri Lanka was genuinely like taking a walk in paradise. It is really hot out there, but the fresh rain and the humidity did balance it out. There were many Hindou temples, which were way more fun to visit then our church if I have to be honest and were really colourful. The thing that probably surprised me the most, was how lovely and welcoming everyone was there. Oh ! and the fruits there were marvellous either. So inexpensive and fresh !
VISITING ANNECY :
Annecy is a French city, which is perfect because of it's location : near the mountains and next to the see. I actually grew up there, and my two brothers were born in this lovely city. If I'd have to make list of all the things I love about this city, I could probably write a whole page on it. But I do especially love the cheese, and the "fondues " there, which consists of melted cheese in a pot that you eat with a piece of bread, and that I particularly enjoy in winter after I had a snowball fight with my bros.
<- That's what's on the back of my journal. It's also one of my favourite quotes ever : Change the world with your smile but don't let the world change your smile .
GOING TO DUBAI :
Dubai is a really lovely city. Actually I was quite marvelled by how much it looked like any other city in the United states. I have to say that I expected it to be way more exotic than it was, with people wearing some traditional clothes, palms and exotic fruits everywhere. But still, this city is really worth visiting it, not only because of it's high and expensive looking buildings. But also because of it's gigantic malls with aquariums and fake skiing stations.
It's definitely a really young and lively city. You have lights and fountains everywhere, and even at night, shops and restaurants are still open.
My sketchbook. Enjoy ^^
**PAGES OF MY SKETCHBOOK**
Well I thought I'd show you guys a few pages of my most recent sketchbook. I hope you enjoy them, keeping in mind that those are sketches and that they aren't perfect. My goal was mainly to try out some new techniques, from watercolours to acrylics and pastels. If you haven't done a sketchbook yet, just try it. It doesn't have to be perfect, you don't even have to add colour to it, it's just supposed to be a reflection of what's going on in your head and a way to improve your skills in trying out new things.
* Homophobia *
I really wanted to do a short page on homosexuality. I have so many friends who are homosexual, and I don't understand why so many people are still against it. These people aren't any different from us, it's like criticising someone because he is vegan or chinese.

-> Storyboard (of a Book I never made by the way :) ) :
A drawing I did for a poster for my art exhibition I did earlier this year.
